Breathing for Adults and Infants by Callaway King
When
someone stops breathing, you need to take immediate action! Using the steps
provided, you can provide the care necessary to keep the victim alive. ( It is
highly recommended that you take a class. This will greatly improve the chances
of success when using these techniques
Step
1: before you start rescue breathing, remain calm and call 911. It is essential
to get an ambulance to come as soon as possible.

2: Put the victim lying down, and faced up. Tilt the head back and gently move
the chin up towards the ceiling.
Step
3: Pinch the person’s nose just under the bone and carefully open the
mouth.
Step
4: Take a deep breath and tightly seal your mouth onto the
victims.
Step
5) blow at a steady pace and make sure the chest is rising and falling. Try to
get 2 breaths 5 times.

For infants only: Once you have completed the past steps, check for a pulse in
the victim. In the case that there is a pulse but not breathing continue the
process, but this time blow one breath: 3 seconds
